He has an outstanding academic background and extensive expertise in refractive surgeries (vision correction), advanced cataract surgeries with multifocal lens implantation, and pioneering corneal transplantation methods—including stem cell therapy and artificial corneal transplants—offering world-class services to patients globally.

About Dr. Mehran Zarei-Ghanavati

Dr. Mehran Zarei-Ghanavati is an ophthalmic surgeon and corneal subspecialist. He ranked among the top applicants nationwide and chose Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, graduating as the top student. Throughout his medical education, he achieved first place in three national medical examinations: the Basic Sciences Exam, the Pre-Internship Exam, and the Residency Exam. Ultimately, he completed his ophthalmology board certification with distinction. in 2011, he participated in the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Examination and secured first place worldwide in competition with over 2,000 ophthalmologists.

He is a faculty member and associate professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and has been dedicated to training ophthalmology residents and corneal fellows for many years. his subspecialties include corneal diseases, refractive surgeries, advanced cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and artificial cornea implantation. he is also among the few ophthalmologists in the country specializing in ocular surface diseases, including advanced dry eye treatments, pterygium surgery, and stem cell transplantation.
